Caroll Aboucaya started to work with paper 30 years ago when she was living in Los Angeles, California. While making a large sculpture, a 5 metre version of The Statue of Liberty, Aboucaya was spotted by a banker who changed the course of her career as a sculptor. He purchased the statue for Montgomery Bank on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles to commemorate the 100 year anniversary for the real Statue of Liberty and the rest was history in the making.
Aboucaya arrived in Granada 10 years ago after several years in Paris working for film and theatre companies creating costumes and scenery. She began to work again in paper and cardboard using this medium to sculpt furniture.
