Georgina Gordon-Smith is a London based artist. Her work encourages the viewer to reconnect with dismissed or overlooked objects and imagery.
In response to the 2015 International Year of Light, Georgina has produced two pieces for the La Conca Arts Club at El Casino. A photograph of the morning light in her bedroom aptly entitled ‘Eclipse’. Her other piece, ‘Moment before the Eclipse’, is made in neon light and is intended to be observed from beneath as if looking up to the sky.
Her third piece, made in 2009, is an oversized bear which can be dismantled to become a pile of cushions. The bear is made of scraps of fabric which she has hand dyed, printed and patch worked.
